Contributing Factors & Treatment Options
The basic premise is that no two patients are exactly the same, therefore, no two treatment options are exactly the same as well.
There are many reasons why people struggle with hair loss. Some common factors to consider that may contribute to your hair loss are:
Genetics or hereditary
Certain medical conditions
Medications or supplementations
Radiation or other cancer therapies
Hairstyles and hair practices
Treatment options are for both men and women and can be divided.
In addition to medical treatments that Dr. Breedlove may recommend, here are some of the procedures that we offer for treatment and may recommend:
Follicular unit transfer (FUT)
Follicular unit extraction (FUE)
Plasma rich protein (PRP)
We also use Neograft in the office as a form of follicular unit extraction.
Platelet-Rich-Plasma for Hair Loss
What are the benefits of PRP hair restoration?
Does PRP work for hair loss?
Platelet-Rich Plasma or PRP therapy has become very popular as an effective treatment for hair loss. It works because PRP has close to five times the number of platelets found in normal blood. These platelets have a number of growth factors that when injected into the scalp stimulates hair growth by encouraging the rejuvenation of follicles and extending the growth cycle of the hair. Many patients have seen much success from PRP injections for hair loss.
What does PRP hair injections treat?
PRP injections for hair restoration is commonly used in both men and women. Patients who receive PRP therapy during the early stages of hair loss tend to see the best results. Anyone experiencing any form of hair loss is essentially a good candidate for PRP injections. Contact Dr Breedlove to see if platelet-rich plasma injections are right for you.
How does PRP Hair Regrowth work?
Using a PRP Kit to draw the your blood and spin it blood in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the platelet rich plasma. Next Dr Breedlove will inject the highly concentrated platelets, which contain cytokines and other growth factors into your hair follicles and hair roots. A person’s hair follicles and hair roots need to be healthy to achieve optimal hair growth. Using your own blood plasma increases the blood circulation to the hair follicles helping the growth of new healthy hair.
Usually, treatments are done every month until we achieve the desired results, most often with a commitment of at least three treatments.
