What happens at the consultation?
Hair loss can happen for a variety of reasons. This is why it’s so important for a dermatologist who is a hair expert to evaluate your hair loss and determine the best course of treatment. At your consultation, Dr. Breedlove will discuss your medical conditions, your current medications, and various other issues that may be contributing to your hair loss. There may be laboratory evaluation involved or a skin biopsy.
At the end of the appointment, she will formulate a plan that is specific just for you.
Contributing Factors & Treatment Options
The basic premise is that no two patients are exactly the same, therefore, no two treatment options are exactly the same as well.
There are many reasons why people struggle with hair loss. Some common factors to consider that may contribute to your hair loss are:
Genetics or hereditary
Certain medical conditions
Medications or supplementations
Radiation or other cancer therapies
Hairstyles and hair practices
Treatment options are for both men and women and can be divided.
In addition to medical treatments that Dr. Breedlove may recommend, here are some of the procedures that we offer for treatment and may recommend:
Follicular unit transfer (FUT)
Follicular unit extraction (FUE)
Plasma rich protein (PRP)
We also use Neograft in the office as a form of follicular unit extraction.
